Playbook / Stage 5–7
Mechanism, then the close
This is the only part of the call that resembles a pitch, and it lasts sixty seconds. Everything after it is logistics.
How the AI USP is positioned
Outcome → mechanism → proof. Never the other way round.
Sir humne yahi wali cheez khatam ki hai. Aap HPCL ka PO ki PDF daal dijiye — contract, saari line items, rate, quantity, HSN, sab apne aap ban jaata hai. Entry karni hi nahi padti.
OUTCOME first. Notice the word 'AI' has still not been spoken. Say the result; let them ask how.
Uske baad MB sheet aur RA bill usi contract se ban jaate hain. Aur limit 90% pe pahunchi nahi ki system khud bata deta hai — over-bill hone ka sawaal hi khatam.
Second capability, and the last. Two is the maximum before a demo. Anything more and there is no reason to attend.
Haan ji sir, peeche AI hi lagi hai — par aapko technical kuch nahi karna. Bas PDF bhej dijiye, baaki wo khud kar leta hai.
ONLY say this if they ask 'yeh kaise hota hai?'. Naming AI unprompted costs credibility with 45+ buyers; naming it on request builds it.
The close
Alternative choice on time. Never a yes/no question.
Sir 20 minute screen share pe main aapko yahi sab live karke dikha deta hoon. Kal subah 11 baje theek rahega ya shaam 5 baje?
Alternative choice, never yes/no. Two options only — three creates decision fatigue.
Bilkul sir. Isi number pe WhatsApp pe link bhej deta hoon, aur ek din pehle yaad bhi dila dunga. 20 minute se ek minute zyada nahi lunga — ye mera vaada hai.
Confirm the channel, cap the time, make a small promise you will visibly keep. Small kept promises are what buy the second meeting.
Sir ek chhoti si request hai — aapka koi ek purana PO ya RA bill isi number pe WhatsApp kar dijiye. Demo mein main usi ko live nikaal ke dikhaunga, taaki aapko apne hi kaagaz pe dikhe.
THE highest-leverage line in this playbook. Their document turns a demo into a trial. Ask every single time, even after the slot is locked.
Why demo-only is the right call goal
An ERP has too many moving parts to close over a phone, and the buyer knows it. Trying to sell forces him to evaluate something he cannot see, so he defends himself with "baad mein dekhte hain".
But "it sells itself once they see it" is only half true. A feature tour sells nothing. What sells is watching their own paperwork turn into finished books in minutes. That is why the document ask is a stage of the call, not an afterthought.
Demo-day checklist
Tailored to the segment you selected above.
- • Their PO or MB sheet extracted and ready before the call — never live-gamble on a first extraction.
- • Open with the extraction result, not a company slide. The first 60 seconds decide the meeting.
- • Show exactly three things: PO → contract, MB → RA bill, and the 90% utilization warning.
- • Price only when asked, and always after an anchor (delayed RA payment or data-entry salary).
- • Close on setup: "30 minute mein live kar dete hain, pehla mahina humari team saath rahegi."
